I took this photo of the Whirlpool Galaxy earlier this month night with Celestron C8 telescope! This new telescope is much larger and let’s me see things much further away. For example, most the nebula I photograph are 5,000-10,000 light years away. This galaxy is over 31,000,000 light years away! This galaxy is interacting with a smaller dwarf galaxy as well and is around 77,000 light years in diameter so a bit smaller than our own galaxy.
